S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald

Today is the 35th anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald lost with all hands on November 10, 1975.  She went down in Lake Superior in 535 feet of water, taking with her a crew of 29 and 26,116 long tons of taconite pellets made of processed iron ore.  The shipwreck was memorialized in Gordon Lightfoot's song The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
