Drawlloween - Vampire

I'm still working on this challenge even though I'm a couple of weeks behind now. Day 4 is a vampire but I find drawing people to be really tough. Instead, I'm working on getting the hang of drawing objects so I didn't want to draw the vampire but wanted to stay with the prompt. My favorite vampires are the Black Dagger Brotherhood from the book series by JR Ward. I suppose they fall in the paranormal romance section. Now that I've been reading fan fiction for years, I'm realizing they should have come with dubcon and noncon warnings, amongst other things and like they say on tumblr, my favs are problematic. I don't care. My favorite Brothers are Vishous and Butch and at the beginning of the series, they are single guys sharing quarters referred to as The Pit. Butch was a human cop who ended up finding out about the Brotherhood through a case. He and the vampire, Vishous, bonded over a mutual love of the Red Sox and stay tight through the rest of the series. Yes, the slash is almost canon and I shipped them before I knew what that was. In their honor, I ended up drawing the things that would be left on a counter in The Pit. Grey Goose vodka is Vishous's drink of choice. I like how it turned out.

Oooh, I love this interpretation of the prompt! I've never heard of JR Ward, but that series does sound like it'd be appealing--and screw Tumblr's problematic faves stuff, let's be honest. XD My vampires of choice were/are Anne Rice's ones (so mainstream!).

Lovely still life!

I never read the Anne Rice books. I liked Jean Claude and Asher from the Anita Blake books at the beginning of that series but gave up on those eventually. The vampires in the Brotherhood are wisecracking rap fans who are into high fashion, expensive cars, and have all had seriously messed up pasts. The first four or five books in the series are pretty fun if you're into reading romances that sort of follow the general tropes. The world building is cool and there are creepy bad guys and plenty of action. The women are interesting characters but it's mostly about the guys. The later books end up with at least one gay couple. The ongoing saga of Phinn and Blaylock is pretty much all that keeps me occasionally checking it out now.

This one was fun to draw.

That's awesome that you made the best out of a difficult prompt! Also, all those birds on that bottle look cool. I've seen some JR Ward books in the book store, but I've had no idea what they are about.

Thanks, it turned out to be fun to draw. I don't drink alcohol but I might be tempted to buy a bottle of Grey Goose just because the bottle is so cool. It's got a lot of blue and grey in it and it looks sharp.
